Major Club Tier ‘B’ Semi Final Moratuwa SC grabs slot in final, await SSC or Negombo CC

Moratuwa SC qualified to the final of the Major Club Tier ‘B’ limited overs tournament when they defeated Galle CC by 52 runs in the semi-final played at the SSC ground in Colombo  yesterday.

Moratuwa SC invited to take first lease of the wicket helped by a half ton from Dinitha Siriwardena and useful knocks from Dumindu Sewmina and Amitha Dabare made 263.

Galle CC in their run chase despite a top knock of 74 coming from Nimantha Sewmina succumbed to Moratuwa SC’s bowling trio of Dumindu Sewmina, Sahan Kaushalya and Ushan Sathsara and was able to score only 211. 

SSC will meet Negombo CC in the second semi final scheduled to be played at the same venue today.
