Karate athletes win 15 medals at South Asian championship

Karate exponents of the Shitoryu Shukokai Karate Association (SSKA) won 15 medals at the ninth South Asian Karate Tournament 2025 held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo recently organised by the Sri Lanka Karate Do Association. 

Shitoryu Shukokai Karate Association won five gold medals, one silver medal and nine bronze medals.

They were trained by Shitory Shukokai Karate Association’s chief instructor Sensei Lakshman Saparamadu.

The other instructors were Sensei Gayan Kumara, Sensei Nishantha de Silva and Sensei Nirosha Neermali 

The Gold Medal recipients were BL Hoshitha Nethminna, HK Thenush, Devon Gawshika, WM Gemith Sri Damith, Samith Weeranga Dayas and PH Prabhath.The Silver medal recipient was B. Kavindu Dinusara Senarath.

The bronze medals recipients were NGAT Amisha Kumari Nikalanda, LR Pumudi Ayansa, M. Megana Bhashini, HA Thuruni Akarsha, JK Tharushika Sandaruwani, JK Tharushini Samindika, Omaya Dewduni Senavirathna, Yenuli Binara, Senarath Piries and Hasini Dinù Sasikala.
