Kandy continue unbeaten run

Kandy Sports Club remained as the only unbeaten team in the Inter Club League in 2025 when they outclassed Police Sports Club by 43 points (7 tries, 4 conversions) to 22 points (4 tries, 1 conversion) to win at Police Park last evening.

At the short breather, Kandy led 19-0.

Kandy drew first blood through their powerful hooker, former Kingswoodian Dilshard Fareed, in the 12th minute of the game. Tarinda Ratwatte added the extra two points. Kandy continued to dominate and scored their second try through Chathuranga Kudalige, who ran circles around the Cops to touch down, which Tarinda converted. The third Kandy try was scored by Danushka Ranjan with a powerful run.

After the turnaround, Kandy added tries through Dahan Wickremarachchi, Malith Wijesundera, Srinarth Sooriyabandara, and Dinal Ekanayake. Four of the try conversions were successful by Tarinda.

Meanwhile, Police scored their tries through Malith Mihsara, Hirantha Perera (2), and Shane Hopwood. One of the try conversions was successfully taken by Hopwood.
