ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 3 Minhas, Huang, Baig, Sarawanan enter final

The ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 3 tennis tournament has reached the final stages in both the girls’ and boys’ singles events with the semi-finals of the two categories being concluded at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Haliya Aman Minhas of Saudi Arabia and Yi-Ching Huang of Taipei won their matches in the girls’ category while Mikael Ali Baig of Pakistan and Devesh Sarwanan of Malaysia won their matches in the boys’ category.

The two finals are scheduled to be worked off today at the same venue. Sarwanan will be looking forward to make a repeat of his win in the final against the same opponent in the Week 2 tournament.

Semi Finals
Girls – Haliya Aman Minhas (Saudi Arabia) beat Daria Belyakova (Russia) 2-0 (6/2, 6/4), Yi-Ching Huang (Taipei) beat Hana Shabanpour (Iran) 2-1 (6/7, 6/1, 6/2).
Boys – Mikael Ali Baig (Pakistan) beat Fu Wang Choi (Hong Kong) 2-0 (6/4, 6/2), Devesh Sarawanan (Malaysia) beat Chang Huang (China) 2-0 (6/3, 7/5).
