Haliya, Devesh emerge champions

Haliya Aman Minhas of Saudi Arabia and Devesh Sarawanan of Malaysia emerged singles champions of the ITF Junior Circuit J30 Week 3 tennis tournament in the two finals played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Haliya underwent some anxious moments against beat Yi-Ching Huang of Taipei before pulling off a two sets to one victory. Devesh on the other hand had an easy passage against Mikael Ali Baig of Pakistan whom he overcame with ease by two sets to nil. It was his second successive title win having earlier clinched the Week 2 tournament title having defeated the same opponent.

Girls – Haliya Aman Minhas (Saudi Arabia) beat Yi-Ching Huang (Taipei) 2-1 (4/6, 7/5, 6/0).
Boys – Devesh Sarawanan (Malaysia) beat Mikael Ali Baig (Pakistan) 2-0- (6/4, 6/4).
