The Legends Tour 2026 heads to Sri Lanka for the first time in history, marking a monumental milestone in both the sporting and tourism landscapes of the island nation.

Scheduled to take place from January 25 to 31, 2026, the prestigious international golf tournament will be hosted at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), one of Asia’s oldest and most distinguished courses.

The Tour event is being driven by the vision of Ryan Howsam, Chairman of the Legends Tour, in collaboration with Intervest, his Sri Lankan-based company and promises to position Sri Lanka as a premier destination for global golf tourism.

Promoters say the event isn’t just about sport, but one that represents a powerful platform for elevating Sri Lanka’s global profile while attracting elite Legends Tour professionals, international investors, golf enthusiasts and affluent travellers from across the world.

Over 60 Tour professionals are expected to take part reinforcing Sri Lanka’s appeal as a compelling destination for both business and leisure as only India and China are featured together with Sri Lanka on the Legends Tour in 2026 which spans across 19 locations every year.

The RCGC steeped in history and tradition, will provide a fitting backdrop for the competition.

With its lush fairways and colonial charm, the venue is poised to offer players and spectators a world-class experience and the event will be broadcast globally, offering unparalleled visibility for sponsors and partners and delivering far-reaching exposure for Sri Lanka’s tourism. Formerly known as European Senior Tour it was re-named in 2020 as the Legends Tour featuring champions aged 50 and over bringing together some of the most celebrated names in golf including major winners of the Ryder Cup and iconic professionals across the globe.

Legends Tour, Chief Operating Officer, Mark Aspland, speaking said: “We are thrilled to kick off our 2026 season with the Sri Lankan Legends and even more exciting is to partner with Royal Colombo Golf Club, One of the oldest Royal golf clubs outside the UK.
