Galle girls win cricket title outsmarting Colombo counterparts

An unbeaten 77 in 65 balls inclusive of nine boundaries and two sixes by Nethagi Isuranjali paved the way for Galle U-19 girls to record a convincing 90 runs win over Colombo U19 in the final to emerge champions of the Under 19 Sri Lanka Youth League limited over tournament played at the BCC ground yesterday.

Nethagi along with Rashmi Nethranjalai who remained unbeaten on 39 associated in an unbroken 103 runs in 79 balls for the fourth wicket to help Galle U19 taking first lease of the wicket to make a score of 143 for 3.

Colombo U19 in their run chase was made to struggle for their runs but succumbed to the bowling pair duo of Shehara Induwari and Dinithi Prathibashini who together shared six wickets as they folded up for  a score of just 53 runs.
