First innings win for Sri Devananda MV

Sri Devananda MV, Ambalangoda scored a close first innings win over Vidyaloka MV, Galle in the Under-19 inter-school cricket encounter at the Army ground in Karandeniya yesterday.

The second day’s play got off to a late start due to wet outfield with Vidyaloka MV resuming from their overnight score of 100 for nine being bowled out without any further addition to the score. Sri Devananda MV in their second turn made 83 for three before declaring and Vidyaloka MV set a target of 113 was able to face only nine overs as the match was called off early due to bad light.
