An unbeaten half ton by Dumindu Sewmina and two fine bowling performances by Ushan Sathsara and Praveen Maneesha paved the way for Lumbini MV to record a comfortable innings and 23 runs win over Holy Cross Kalutara in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at the BRC ground yesterday.

Holy Cross in reply to Lumbini MV’s score of 227, resuming from their overnight score of 31 for 5, succumbed to Ushan Sathsara who bagged six scalps for a score of 75 runs.
Holy Cross forced to follow and left with the task of erasing a deficit of 152 runs was wrecked by Praveen Maneesha who ended with seven scalps and was bowled out for 129 runs as Lumbini MV recorded their fourth outright win for the season.

A knock of 134 by Suwas Fernando and a match bag of eight wickets by Achala Perera helped Prince of Wales to coast to an innings and 57 runs win over St. Anne’s College Kurunegala in another match which ended at Moratuwa.

S. Thomas’ escaped defeat as Maliyadeva fell short by four runs to gain an outright win in the match concluded at Kurunegala yesterday.
