Sri Lankan rugby star Dulanjana Wijesinghe is set to take on a new challenge, having been appointed as the Head Coach of Sri Lions SC for the upcoming 2025/2026 rugby season. The appointment marks a major step forward for both the former Wesley College star and the club, with the new season scheduled to kick off next month.
Wijesinghe, a standout player during his school days, represented Wesley College with distinction in 2008 and 2009, becoming the highest try scorer in his last year at school.
Following his successful playing career, Wijesinghe seamlessly transitioned into coaching, beginning at his alma mater from 2016 to 2020. His strong foundation in player development and tactical awareness soon earned him opportunities with other top rugby institutions.
He later joined Joes Rugby, initially serving as an Assistant Coach from 2021 to 2023 before taking over as Head Coach in 2024. At the same time, he contributed at the club level, serving as Assistant Coach at Police SC from 2022 to 2024.
