Danushan and Kaya crowned Club Champions

The 104th Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), Club Championship concluded in grand style, showcasing top-tier golfing talent and intense competition across both segments as Kumar Danushan and Kaya Daluwatte reigned supreme.

In the Gents final Kumar Danushan delivered a commanding performance to secure the coveted title. Known for his precision and composure under pressure, Danushan navigated a challenging field, culminating in a 3/2 win over talented Yannik Kumara who displyed a good fight before ending as the runner-up in the event. Danushan beat Sachin de Silva 5/4 in the semifinal while Yannik Kumara defeated Jacob Norton in the other semifinal 3/2.

The Ladies championship had Sri Lanka number one girl, Kaya Daluwatte end up victorious. Kaya displayed remarkable skill and strategic play throughout the tournament, proving her mettle against experienced competitors. 

Her calm demeanor and sharp smart play earned her the championship trophy, marking a significant milestone in her rapidly ascending golf career. Kaya beat Thiru Jesudason 7/6 in the final. During the semis Kaya beat Maleena Awn 9/8 while Thiru beat Jade Jiggens 2/1
