Chanaka takes lead at ranking golf

Chanaka Perera moved into the lead after two rounds at the National Ranking Golf Tournament 2025, being played at the Victoria Golf Resort in Rajawella. 

Perera followed up his opening 73 with a steady 74 on the second day for a total of 147, giving him a slender one-stroke advantage at the halfway stage.

Just one shot behind is Vijitha Bandara, who shot a solid 71 on the first day but slipped slightly with a 77 in the second round, totaling 148. In third place sits Kumar Danushan, who maintained consistent form with rounds of 74 and 75 to stay well within striking distance at 149.

The chasing pack includes Kaya Daluwatte, Priya Hemantha, Reshan Algama, PDSU Kumara, Jacob Norton and several others. Also competing strongly are Chalitha Pushpika, KB Madushanka, Uchitha Ranasinghe, Sachin de Silva, Anura Rohana, Dananjaya Bandara, RMS Rupesinghe, Lavindu Premarathne, GWA Wijenayake and WGDP Karunaratne who will all aim to close the gap in the coming rounds.

Fifteen Amateurs and three pro golfers moved forward for the third day today.
