Chamod misses 60m final in China

Sri Lankan sprint athlete Chamod Yodasingha missed out the chance of competing in the final of the Men’s 60m event at the 20th IAAF World Indoor Championship in Nanjing, China yesterday.

Earlier, Chamod, clocked 6.70s in the second preliminary round of the event and won third place to qualify for the semi-finals. But in the semi-finals, he had to be content with eighth place with the identical timing.

Accordingly, Chamod finished overall in 22nd place out of the 24 competitors who participated in this event. 12 athletes from Sri Lanka are participating in this year's meet.
