The prestigious championship, played on a world-class course, saw intense competition among top-ranked juniors between the ages of 15 and 22.
Sri Lanka’s junior golfers gained invaluable experience in this high-calibre field. Reshan Algama, overcame a disastrous opening round of 9-over-par to steadily climb from 32nd place to a commendable 20th, finishing with a total of 227.
Both other days, Algama played a consistent 1 over par rounds. His teammate, Jacob Norton, settled for 32nd place with a score of 236, after struggling to improve beyond an early 5-over-par round. Both players faced challenges on the lightning-fast greens.
Indonesia’s Jaemin Park emerged victorious with a gross score of 203, displaying remarkable consistency and composure. He was closely followed by Jiwon Jung (206) and Kim Hamin (207), both from South Korea.
In the team event, South Korea teams 1 and 2 dominated, finishing first and second with scores of 411 and 413, respectively. Sri Lanka’s team secured 11th place, ahead of Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
