Ashan, Jacques dazzle at Walawe Supercross

Ace driver Ashan Silva and rider Jacques Gunawardena dazzled at the 10th Walawe Supercross conducted by the Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (SLEME) of the Army held at the Sevanagala motor racing track over the weekend.

The two by winning their events were adjudged the best driver and rider of the meet. Ashan in fact won the title for the third year having won in 2018 and when it was last held in 2019.

Ashan continued his dominance in the Group GT SLGT Cars upto 3500cc when he came out victorious in the Race 1 and Race 2 events while Jacques came out on top in both Race 1 and Race 2 of the Group MX over 175cc upto 250cc (4T) and the 100cc upto 125cc (2T) MX event.

The other rider to bag a double was Pathum Dhananjaya who won both races of the Group SM Super Motard including 250cc upto 750cc (4T) and 125cc upto 500cc (2T) Mono/Twin Cylinder event.

The Walawe Supercross sponsored by Causeway Paints had the participation of over 150 competitors in both car and motorcycle events.
