Army Sports Club will be all out for a win when they confront last-placed Navy SC at Welisara tomorrow.
They will badly need this win to overtake CH and then with one more game their aim is to overtake the Air Force outfit as only top four teams will get the Cup segment berth at Super Round while the bottom five will play in the Plate segment after round one.
Army so far earned 12 points to be in number six position while the Navy are placed ninth with five points.
Army got some some outstanding players such as Ashan Bandara, Gayan Salinda and Sudaraka Dukkumbura. They are coached by experienced Shamly Nawaz but performed below expected level this season with inconsistency being the main reason. A giant-killer performance is expected from the soldiers.
Meanwhile, Navy SC are going through one of the worst seasons. They are led by Stephan Gregory and got Thilina Weerasinghe, Koojana Kulatunge and Isuru Congahawatte in their outfit but nothing has come their way this season.
They are nothing short on talent and will be playing for pride as their fate hangs in balance for the Clifford Cup knock out as only the top eight will go through. They are coached by Sumedha Malewana.
This encounter will be refereed by Aruna Shantha
