The Air Force champion carom players both men and women team with officials

In an unforgettable display of skill and determination, Air Force etched its name into the record books by securing both the men’s and women’s carom titles at the 13th Defence Services Games 2024/2025 held on July 28 at the Carom Federation of Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Organised under the stewardship of the Army it showcased the rapidly rising standards of carom among the Tri-Services. The tournament, which featured three men’s and three women’s teams from the Army, Navy and Air Force, had intense competition across both segments.
Air Force teams emerged victorious in both categories—a historic first in the annals of the Defence Services Games—signifying Air Force’s growing excellence and dedication to the sport.
The finals were held in the presence of several dignitaries, including Deputy Military Liaison Officer to the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier Kasun Adhikari, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Group Captain Nushan Rajapakse, Chairman of SLAF Carom and Commander Chandana Wickramarachchi, Chairman of SL Navy Carom were also present, along with other senior officials from the Tri-Services. The achievements of the Air Force teams had not only elevated the spirit of the Games but also reaffirmed the Air Force’s strong sporting legacy within the Defence Services.
