32nd Milo All Island Schools Netball begins

The 32nd Milo All Island Schools Netball Championship conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association with the guidance of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd  got underway with the opening ceremony being held at the Maligapitiya ground in Kurunegala  yesterday.

Bernard Stefan, Managing Director of Nestle Lanka Ltd graced the occasion as the chief which was attended by Mohamed Ali, Director Dairy and Beverages, Nestlé Lanka. Lakshmi Victoria, President Asia Netball Federation, Nirodha Abeywickrama, President Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association, Dr. Namal Sudhashana, Deputy Minister of Child and Women’s Affairs.

The championship scheduled to end on August 17 will see the participation of over 4,000 netball players around the island vying for the title in the age groups from Under 13 to Under 19.
