111th National Tennis Championship Close-quarter competition expected in boys and girls semis

The semi-finalists in Under 14 girls and boys categories of the 111th National Tennis Championships came through after the completion of the quarter final encounters at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Sahansa Damsiluni along with Sanuthi Wong, Sheshandri Fernando and Methuli Naotunne were the youngsters to book the semi-final berths in the girls’ category while Damsath Peiris along with Buvindu Jayawardena, Revaan Amarasinghe and Parvesh Sivapalan made it to the semi-finals in the boys’ category.

The scheduled semifinal matches will be Sahansa Damsiluni versus Sanuthi Wong and Sheshandri Fernando versus Methuli Naotunne. 

In the boys’ semi-finals Damsath Peiris will meet Buvindu Jayawardena and Revaan Amarasinghe will confront Parvesh Sivapalan.

Girls Under 14 – Sahansa Damsiluni beat Nethaya Amarasekera 2-0 (6/4, 6/1). Sanuthi Wong beat Navya Banagala 2-1 (2/6, 6/0, 6/4). Sheshandri Fernando beat Risindi Hewawasam 2-0 (6/3, 6/3). Methuli Naotunne received a walk-over from Annaya Norbert
Boys Under 14 – Damsath Peiris beat Jayan Sebastian 2-1 (1/6,7/6, 1/1rtd). Buvindu Jayawardena beat Dehan Wickramasinghe 2-0 (6/4, 6/4). Revaan Amarasinghe beat Yudheerya Athapaththu 2-0 (6/1, 6/3). Parvesh Sivapalan beat Chirath Subasinghe 2-0 (6/3, 6/3).
