110th Colombo Tennis Championship Yuhansa, Ashlin emerge U-18 champions

Yuhansa Peiris and Ashlin de Silva emerged Under-18 Singles champions in the Girls’ and Boys’ categories respectively at the 110th Colombo Tennis Championships when they emerged victorious in the finals played at the SLTA Courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.

Yuhansa went through some anxious moments against Sandithi Usgodaarachchi before pulling off a 2-1 win while Ashlin had little difficulty in brushing off the challenge from Ganuka Fernando winning comfortably 2-0. The championship will continue today.

(Under-18 Girls’ final): Yuhansa Peiris beat Sandithi Usgodaarachchi 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. (Under-18 Boys’ final): Ashlin de Silva beat Ganuka Fernando 7-6, 7-5.
