Two battles behind the scene!

Two battles are said to be raging behind the scene in the Telephone party. 

One battle is being waged over a top post in the party. A gabby heavyweight hailing from a district adjoining the Colombo one who has now got into hot water because of his loose tongue had been eyeing this top post. 

However, the party chief had offered the post to another stalwart from Gampaha, who is widely looked on as a fitting match for the Number One. 

The disappointed one does not appear to have taken the defeat lying down. 

The other battle is over the preference vote. A stalwart from Badulla is reportedly set to shift his political base to Gampaha to fill the void that arose when the former actor was confined to the state lodge. 

However, the one who mustered the highest number of preference votes in the Gampaha District has got rattled about it. There had been slanging matches too over this issue, 
they say. 

The Badulla stalwart’s plan is likely to go awry as a top one in the party is set to throw a spanner into the works, knowledgeable sources say.
