They are to quit in disgust!

Two purohitas at state level in the government are said to be highly discontented and disillusioned these days, they say. Both purohitas are said to be going round telling their Diyawanna colleagues that their superiors at the top team level have become a stumbling block to the implementation of their plans and programms.

One of these Ministries recently commissioned a major development project undertaken by it and the State Purohita had boycotted the ceremony held to mark the event. In fact, he had made it a point to be out of the island on the day of the important event, they say.

Both these despondent state purohitas hail from the Western province- one from Kalutara and the other from Gampaha.

Both purohitas had apprised the authorities concerned of their frustration and they have reached the stage where they had to say, ‘Enough is enough’ and are said to be in readiness to quit office if their grievances are not redressed without further delay, they say.

By the way, one of these two state purohitas is said to be representing a constituent political party in the ruling coalition.
