Some billionaires with vested interests in the country are seeking to launch media institutions mainly to achieve their political objectives. Well, there’s nothing wrong with that; this is a free country, one would say.
There was much speculation in the recent past about a move afoot to launch a new media network.
The latest story doing rounds in business circles says there is still another billionaire all set to enter the media sector.
This billionaire, the businessman sibling of a powerful political family in the country has set his heart upon buying a print media institution currently struggling in financial difficulties, they say.
This businessman already running several ventures seems to have decided that a media institution would be a source of strength to his family member now deeply involved in politics. So the particular print media institution, a major stake of which is held by a party supporter now domiciled abroad, is going to be the businessman sibling’s possession lock, stock and barrel in the near future, they say.
