Young passenger with forged Polish PR card nabbed by Immigration

A 25-year-old youth, who tried to leave the country with a forged permanent residence card for Poland was arrested by the Department of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) during the weekend.   
The DIE officials at the BIA Departure Terminal on suspicion searched a young male, when he had come to leave for Bahrain on Saturday evening.   
The passenger had produced a genuine Sri Lankan passport for his travel but the sleuths also found a Polish PR card in his possession, which was later learned to be a forged one.   
The youth who is a resident of Mahamodara, Galle was about to board a Gulf Air flight GF 145 bound for Male and then to Bahrain.   
The authorities suspect the passenger had tried to migrate to Europe for employment with a forged permanent resident card.   
Following the preliminary inquiries, the passenger was handed over to the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) unit at the BIA for further investigations.
