Three-year-old dies falling into water-filled toilet pit in Anamaduwa

• According to police, the child had accidentally fallen into the pit and was later rescued by his grandmother and other family members

A tragic accident claimed the life of a three-year-old child after it fell into a water-filled pit dug for a toilet at a house in Wadawatta, Anamaduwa, Police said.  

The deceased child has been identified as A.H.M. Sathis Shenul, a resident of Wadatta village. 

The incident occurred while the child was staying at his grandmother’s residence.  

According to police, the child had accidentally fallen into the pit and was later rescued by his grandmother and other family members. He was rushed to the Kottukachchiya Hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead upon admission.  

Police have commenced further investigations into the incident.
