Sudden floods cause heavy traffic in Kandy

A sudden flood was reported last evening in the Mahayiyawa area along the Kandy–Katugastota main road following heavy rainfall. The flooding occurred after nearly an hour of intense rain in Kandy city and surrounding areas, officials said. As a result, the Kandy Railway Station and Mahayiyawa area were inundated, causing heavy traffic congestion in and around the city.
