Russian arrested for Kush cultivation

A Russian tourist who had cultivated Kush at Ihalagoda in Akmeemana was arrested yesterday by the Galle Crime Investigation Division.The suspect had rented out a house and carried out the cultivation of Kush in one of the rooms. Investigations revealed that the suspect Russian tourist had rented out the house belonging to a doctor for Rs.150,000 per month to carry out the racket.
Police said the Kush cultivation in one part of the room was about four months old and that in the other part, about two weeks. A police team under OIC Crime Investigation Division CI Sampath Wijerama is conducting further investigations on the instructions of ASP Nimal Perera.  
The suspect was handed over to Akmeemana police for further action.
