Police officer in Anuradhapura stung by venomous snake dead

• He had been stung by the snake while he was attending to his banana cultivation behind his house

Assistant OIC Anuradhapura Udamaluwa Police, Sarath Dharmasiri (59) who was stung by a venomous snake died yesterday at Anuradhapura Hospital after four days of treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.   
He had been stung by a snake when he was attending to his banana cultivation behind the house.   
He had been OIC SOSO Unit of Anuradhapura Police before his appointment to Udamaluwa police. He was a resident of Nagadeepa Mawatha in Jaffna Junction in Anuradhapura.
