Police branch OIC released on bail after allegedly abusing WPC

OIC Anti Vice Investigation Branch of the Tangalle Police who had been arrested on suspicion of abusing a WPC in rude words and sexually harassing her was produced before Tangalle magistrate and released on cash bail in Rs.10,000 and personal bail in Rs.200,000 each with two sureties.   

The victim WPC had been attached to the Anti Vice Investigation Branch of Tangalle police and the OIC was arrested during investigation of her complaint to Tangalle ASP and the Women and Children’s Bureau of the Tangalle police.  OIC Women and Children’s Bureau CI Dilhani is conducting further investigations on the instructions of ASP R.A.M.J. Ariyaratne and SSP Upul Seneviratne
