Pirith chanting ceremony in the 75th year Esala festival of the historic Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara

The traditional Devadutha Perehera ( The procession of messengers of the Gods” ) in the Pirith chanting ceremony in the 75th year Esala festival of the historic Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara was held under the guidance of Chief Incumbent of the temple and Chief Sanghanayake in Singapore Ven. Dr. Bellanwila Dhammarathana Thera and Viharadhikari Ven Boralesgamuwe Pemarathana Thera.   

The traditional Dorakada Asna (the message of the gods) was read by O. Hiruna Kanchana De Silva (13, a Grade eight student of Nugegoda Lyceum International School.   

The retinue of Deva Duta messengers included Methila Winsala of St.John’s College, Nugegoda, and Dihen Randisa of Vidura Vidyalaya in Colombo. They were conducted in a colorful procession to the venue of the Pirith Chanting ceremony.
