‘Naked rider’ further remanded

The young man who stripped naked and made a trip on a motorcycle to Piduruthalagala only to be arrested at Kadugannawa by the police was produced yesterday before the Kandy magistrate who further remanded him till March 19.   

The suspect Kariyawasam Pathirage Kaweesha Samsara Kariyawasam (23) was from Gurullawala in Ahangama. He had been riding a motorcycle while naked last Monday (03) when he was arrested at Kaduganawa and remanded till yesterday (05) .   

The magistrate ordered police to refer him to a psychiatrist through prison authorities for a medical examination and produce the report in court.   

OIC Kadugannwa police CI Chaminda Gunaratne who produced the suspect told court that the suspect would be charged for haphazard riding of a motorcycle, and causing public annoyance.
