Mawalla Bridge damaged after heavy rains

Vehicular movement including pedestrian movements on the Lellopitya – Galabada Road through Bopatta has come into a halt after a part of the Mawalla Bridge over Denawaka River had been damaged due to rain waters.  

The bridge that connected Bopatta and Galabada Grama Niladhari Divisions was used daily by lorries transporting tea leaves and other vehicles. People from  Bopatta crossed the bridge to reach Wewalwatta, Ratganga and Galabada and Gallella Divisional Hospital while,people from Mawalla North and Pillewa were faced with extreme difficulties after the bridge had been damaged.
