Late President J. R. Jayewardene’s 119th birth anniversary commemoration today

The 119th birth anniversary of late President J. R. Jayewardene will be commemorated today (17) at the main auditorium of the J.R. Jayewardene Centre, Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo, from 3 p.m.   

The event, organised by the J. R. Jayewardene Centre, will feature a keynote oration by Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku, who is expected to reflect on the life, legacy, and contributions of Sri Lanka’s first Executive President.   

The commemoration aims to honour Jayewardene’s role in shaping the nation’s political and social landscape, while offering the public and dignitaries an opportunity to revisit his enduring impact on Sri Lanka’s history.
