Lanka IOC dealers accuse its management of not increasing the dealer commission that was trimmed from March this year despite gaining profits in billions of rupees annually.
The 3% dealer margin was reduced by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and instead there was the introducing of a new scheme. Those who introduced the new scheme claim that CPC has incurred losses over the past several years by paying the dealer margin when the retail price was determined. Although Lanka IOC too followed the new scheme, petroleum dealers claim that RM Parks and SINOPEC did not bring down their dealer margin. Instead they have offered many more facilities to their respective dealers in a bid to attract new dealers.
