Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque conducts Free Medical Camp

The Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque successfully carried out its second consecutive year Free Medical Camp at the Mosque premises recently.

More than 10 doctors and hospital staff were present and 800 residents of the Kollupitiya area benefited from the free medical camp.   

In addition also tested patients’ general check up, optical eye care, pediatric care, Nephrology (Kidney), blood pressure, dental care, physiotherapy, cardiac care and subsequently provided medical advice as to how to lead a healthier life. An eye clinic was also held and spectacles were distributed free of charge for those who were in need of them. Gynaecology Awareness programmes were conducted by De Zoysa Hospital Gynaecologist Prof. M. R. M. Rishard and Dr. Manisha De Silva.   

Speaking during the event, Chairman of the Mosque M.A.M. Zakwan said the event was made possible through the active partnership of doctors and hospital staff along with sponsors. He thanked the mosque’s staff and all the sponsors. Also, he said in future they will organize many more such projects for the benefit of the people in the Kollupitiya neighbourhood.   

Treasurer of the Mosque Yasser Azeez, Assistant Treasurer Shahaz Shiyam, Imams of the Mosque Ash Sheik M.B.M. Rizwan and Head of Internal Management  Ash Sheik Shaeed Jamshid were also present.
