Hill country leopard cub found dead

The carcass of a hill country leopard lying by the roadside at Shanon on the Hatton - Avissawella road was recovered yesterday by residents of the area.

They informed Hatton Police that they handed it over to the Nallathannya Wildlife Office.

Wildlife officers believe that the cub would have died of natural causes or knocked down by a vehicle.
