GCE Advanced Level Top performers in Maths and Arts

A student of Gampaha Bandaranaike Maha Vidyalaya Ransara Kumarage is the first in the island in the Mathematics stream at the GCE (Advanced Level ) Examination this year,.

Ransara who had his primary education at Veyangoda St, Mary’s College had gained admission to Gampaha Bandaranaike Maha Vidyalaya on the results of the Year Five Scholarship examination.

Jubilant over his success, Ransara said he was confident of reaching the highest standard at the examination and that his dream has turned a reality.

The second in a family of three children of Kumbaloluwa in Veyangoda Ransara Kumarage has performed well in extracurricular activities in school as well. Ransara who takes a keen interest in music is a violinist in the school band.

He expressed his gratitude to his parents, the Principal of the school and the teachers regarding his success.

Meanwhile Senali Chamantha Ranasihge of Gampaha Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya has come first in the all island rank in the Arts Stream this year.

Senali who scored a triumph at the examination, had her primary education at Batuwatta Junior School and joined the Galahitiyawa Central College on the result of the year five scholarship examination. After passing her GCE(Ordinary Level ) Examination she had joined Gampaha Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya. The eldest in the family, Senali She said she was hopeful that she would score a triumph at the examination, and that she has been able to come first in the island rank in the arts stream..

She said she attended to her studies with perseverance and made the maximum use of time for school education.

My ambition is to enter the university and qualify in a professional field. I am grateful to my parents, the Principal of the school Mrs Wasantha Kumari and the teachers for my success.” She said.
