Focus on our Trade Policy Review : WTO official

World Trade Organisation (WTO) Trade Policy Review head Zhanar Atizhanova Torebwyev has called up Sri Lanka to focus on WTO Trade Policy Review (TPR), stressing that it could play a major role in the countries’, trade reform.     According to the ministry of Trade ,WTO Chief of Trade Policy Review (TPR) however has praised Sri Lanka for steps taken to reform the trade sector. He has come up with these remarks during the session on fifth review of Sri Lanka’s policy reforms.    Minister of Trade Wasantha Samarasinghe informed the sessions that Sri Lanka is looking towards introducing a new trade policy which is based on simple import duty system while the government is committed to developing trade infrastructure facilities and ensuring transparency in investments.   
He also said Sri Lanka is aware of new global trade developments and would focus on it when preparing the new trade policy.
