The annual Duruthu Perahera of the Kelaniya Temple lit up the streets on Saturday. Here, former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Dr. Saman Weerasinghe who is the chairman of the Dayaka Sabha places the casket with the sacred relics on the tusker to be paraded.
