The launching of the satellite which was known as ‘Chichi’s rocket ‘indicates a division within the government, two opposition MP’s said yesterday.
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa who referred to entity which has been said to be initiated by his younger brother Rohitha Rajapaksa who is known as ‘Chichi’ said the investment seemed to have created a division within the government.
“The government comes out with false allegations against opponents day after day but Chichi’s rocket seems to have created a division within the government,” MP Rajapaksa told media.
“One has to see to it that Chichi’s rocket will not fall on Pelawatte,” he added.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harshana Rajakaruna also said the government seemed to be divided on the issue.
“We initially heard what Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya had to say about the issue. Then we saw Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe making another statement on it. It looks like Minister Samarasinghe has knocked Prime Minister on her head with his remarks following the advice of those in JVP headquarters at Pelawatte.
Meanwhile Government MP Devananda Suraweera said a complete investigation will be carried out to uncover the truth on the Supreme SAT entity. “The investigation will reveal as to where the Rs 12 billion investment for the entity came from and all other details,” he said.
