Cargills ‘Sarubima’ programme supports farming communities

Cargills (Ceylon) PLC awarded educational scholarships to students from farming communities under its ‘Cargills Sarubima’ programme at a ceremony on August 29, 2025. The event, held with Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Minister K. D. Lal Kantha as Chief Guest, was attended by Ministry Secretary D. P. Wickramasinghe, representatives of international development agencies, media, and the company’s directors and senior management. This year, Cargills allocated over Rs. 115 million through the ‘Sarubima’ initiative to fund scholarships and rural community development projects.
