75 revellers flouting health guidelines arrested in WP

Seventy-five people have been taken into custody by the police during raids conducted on Tuesday at night clubs, gaming centres and spa centres in the Western Province for violating quarantine regulations issued by the Director-General of Health Services.  


All activities in clubs, gaming centres and Spas had been completely banned.  as per the guidelines issued on May 1, 2021, by the DGHS, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. During the raids that were conducted, the police had checked 47 clubs, 105 gaming centres and 137 Spas in the Western Province.  


Accordingly, seven managers of such institutions, 19 employees and another 55 people had been arrested.   
DIG Rohana said the suspects were to be produced before the respective Magistrate’s Courts yesterday.
