Former Bishop of Colombo passes away

His remains will lie in state at the Church of the Living  God, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07, from 10 am on  Sunday, September 07, and the funeral service will be held on Monday, September 08 at 2.30 pm, followed by the last rites at the Borella General Cemetery at 5.30 pm.

The former Bishop of Colombo, Church of Ceylon, His Eminence Kenneth Fernando, has passed away at the age of 93. He received his primary education from the Royal  College, Colombo, and his higher education from the  University of Peradeniya and the University of Oxford in  England. He rendered unparalleled service to the Sri  Lankan Church for nearly 70 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, retired teacher Chitra Fernando, and two sons,  Dr. Pemendra Fernando (Consultant anesthetics/ (MBBS ) and Dr. Shan Fernando (Economist/Banker (PHD).
