“ DAN SAPADA?” protest by Opposition

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MPs led by Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa staged a protest against the fuel price hike by coming to Parliament in vehicles including motorcycles, trucks and three- wheelers.    

Various placards were seen pasted on the vehicles which called upon the authorities to reduce fuel prices.The placards with the slogan “Dan Sapada”( Are you happy now?) were seen pasted in some of the vehicles.  
MP Hesha Withanage was seen riding a motorcycle with another MP in the pillion while Mr. Premadasa was seen inside a vintage car. MPs Hector Appuhamy and Kavinda Jayawardene were seen coming in a truck used to transport fish.  


Mr. Premadasa who was speaking to the media said that yesterday’s protest was a first step towards forming a new government which would provide various concessions to the people at this time of crisis. “People are hit by the fuel price hike, the pandemic and the ship that had caught fire.Therefore our effort is to form a government which will provide concessions and provide a better tomorrow for the people,” he said.  


Thereafter, the MPs got into their usual vehicles at the Jayanthipura Junction and headed towards the Parliamentary complex.
