Basil returns

Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa returned to the country last morning to a grand welcome at the BIA.  

Rajapaksa left for the US in September to receive medical treatment, after the Supreme Court allowed him to travel overseas.   A number of SLPP members including Parliamentarians were at the BIA to welcome the former minister on his arrival

It was reported that Basil Rajapaksa will work towards securing a two thirds majority for the budget in Parliament, however Minister Prasanna Ranatunga denied this report and wanted the opposition MPs not to refer to Rajapaksa as ‘Kaputa’.
