  • Says posts created and shared by bankrupt opposition

In the wake of various posts shared in social media about a clash at the Pelawatte Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) headquarters, its General Secretary Tilvin Silva refuted claims as ludicrous attempts by the bankrupt opposition.
He told an interview with a YouTube channel that it is absurd that posts created by some mentally retarded social media activists are being shared by others and used by opposition politicians without any verification.
He said a false social media post created by someone claiming that Tilvin Silva was hospitalised due to a clash in Pelawatte was shared by others without verifying the facts and even some opposition politicians talked about it during press conferences.
“This shows the bankruptcy of the opposition. People will not believe these lies. How can such a opposition run a government? he asked.
Silva said the opposition camp is now perturbed after NPP’s successful May Day rallies and expedited Court cases.
“The opposition is left without slogans now. We proved wrong their claims that the government has lost mandate and threat to bring people to the street against the government. We conducted record 21 May Day rallies on the same day with massive  participation of people,” he said.
