Teacher assaulted by student

A teacher of a leading school in Monaragala town who received injuries due to an assault by a student yesterday was admitted to the Monaragala general hospital.   

He was a teacher in charge of the Technology subject. Investigations revealed that the Grade eleven student who assaulted him had in his possession a smart phone and a power bank, and he had assaulted the teacher who questioned him about using a mobile phone in school.  

Police said the suspect student was a resident of Sirigala In Monaragala. Monaragala police are conducting further investigations. .
