Schoolteacher arrested for rape of 14-year-old girl

The police arrested a teacher of Oyagawa Junior School in  Ranawaranawa in the Lunugamvehera Police area on suspicion of raping a  14-year-old schoolgirl.   

The 43-year-old suspect was a resident of Kuda Gammna in Lunugamvehera.   

It is alleged that the suspect had raped the girl at  times for several months when she attended the tuition class run by him.  He was arrested during investigations of a complaint received from the  victim.   

The suspect was to be produced before Tissamaharama Magistrate last morning.   

OIC Lunugamvehera Police IP Chintaka Wickremaratne is conducting further investigations.
