Namal expresses displeasure over Aswesuma crisis

While expressing his displeasure over the crisis that had arisen over the government’s new social welfare programme Aswesuma, SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa yesterday called for a proper research to determine who are most eligible. 

 
The research carried out to determine eligible recipients had caused a great injustice to those who already received Samurdhi. “I am committed to help the Samurdhi recipients who have been subjected to injustice,” he said.   

“Aswesuma should provide relief to the poor and should not become a problem,” he added.   

“I request the government not to give into political affiliations when dealing with the Aswesuma issue but to look at the issue in a humanitarian perspective,” he also said.
