Mephedrone detected in Sri Lanka for the first time

The Government Analyst’s report reveals that Mephedrone is more dangerous than other narcotic drugs such as ‘ICE’.

Sri Lanka has detected the highly dangerous synthetic stimulant drug ‘Mephedrone’ for the first time, and a foreigner has been arrested.

Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya said that the drug was confirmed by the Government Analyst, and this was the first instance of this drug being found in Sri Lanka.

The Government Analyst’s report reveals that Mephedrone is more dangerous than other narcotic drugs such as ‘ICE’. The drug was found after examining a substance seized from a Moldovan national arrested in Weligama on September 21.
